Looking Forward to next season

Well, the season came to an abrupt end for the UNC men's basketball team. Psycho-T and company lost to Kansas in an unflattering manner. Roy Williams had is time to wear a Kansas sticker and attend the Championship to root for Kansas one last time. Now that this is out of his system, it's back to business. Now it's time to secure Tyler Hansbrough, Wayne Ellington & Ty Lawson, while awaiting the arrival of Ed Davis, Tyler Zeller & Larry Drew next season. If everyone stays, the Tarheels are the favorite to win the 2008-2009 season national championship. Many are already comparing them to the UNC 2005 championship team. So, for are you Bidrealm.NET affiliated readers out there, this will be our next to last NCAA basketball posting prior to the final update on the Carolina & Maryland NBA draft prospects, courtesy of our diehard B-ball fans, Bidrealm founders Lorenzo Dickerson & Travis White. After that it will be back to business as usual. All about Bidrealm.NET and it's home improvement network unlike anything else on the web.

So Far-So Good, for the HEELS.

So far, so good for the UNC Tarheels. The Tarheels recently beat Mt. St. Marys 113-74 and then Arkansas 108-77 to advance to the Sweet 16 where they will face Washington State. Tip-off is at 7:27pm, Thursday 3/27/08.

Unfortunately Maryland lost in the NIT to Syracuse 88-72. James Gist and company couldn't get the job done, and it is the last game for both him and fellow Senior, Bambale Osby. Lets wish them the best of luck in this year's NBA draft. Hopefully Maryland can recover by adding incoming Freshmen Sean Mosley, Augustus Gilchrist & Bobby Maze.

North Carolina is playing it's best basketball right now, and are showing us why they are the overall #1 seed in this years NCAA tournament. The heels are playing as a team and firing on all cylinders. Lets give credit where credit is due. Coach Roy Williams has done a fantastic recruiting job by securing such high quality talent such as the recent elite 6 of Brandan Wright, Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington, Deon Thompson, Alex Stephenson & William Graves, the 2006-07 national #1 recruiting class. For the 2008-09 season he has done it again with Ed Davis, Tyler Zeller & Larry Drew. By the time good ole Roy retires, who knows how may additional championships North Carolina will have. One thing is for sure, you never count out a legend. And Roy Williams is just that. He knows the game, he's classy, and he's a true Tarheel winner. It's great to have Roy back home in Chapel Hill.

2008 NCAA tournament

BASKETBALL UPDATE

Well Well Well,

The old Terrapins couldn't cut the mustard in the ACC tournament, loosing to Boston College 71-68. But, the mighty mighty Tarheels marched on to clench not only the ACC championship title, beating Clemson for the 3rd time this year 86-81, but also the number 1 seed in the East region of the NCAA tournament. Bidrealm.NET's President, Lorenzo Dickerson is sporting his carolina blue proudly, while our VP, Travis White may not be sporting his red as much. The shocking loss that Maryland gave to UNC earlier in the ACC regular season must have been a wake up call to Roy's Boys. Help us chear on both these teams as Maryland takes on Syracuse at 7:00pm today 3/20/08 in the NIT, after already beating Minnesota 68-58 in the first round. Carolina will be meeting Mt. St. Marys in the first round of the NCAA tournament Friday 3/21/08 at 7:10pm. Don't forget to watch both the UNC & Maryland women's B-Ball teams as well, as they are ranked #s 2 & 5 in the nation respectively. Carolina takes Bucknell while Maryland competes against Coppin State. Who knows, maybe we'll be lucky enough to see a Carolina/Maryland NCAA championship game this year in the women's tournament. It's possible.
